Based on the Travellers in Arabia Exhibition held at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in September 2004, this an attractive, large format, photographic book, casebound, and jacketed.The photographers are: Betram Thomas, Captain William, Shakespear, T.E. Lawrence, Wilfred Thesiger, Harry St. John Philby, Gertrude Bell, Gerard Leachmen, Major A. L. Holt, Sir George Rendel, Gerald de Gaury, and Major R.E. Cheesman.Also included are excerpts from the writings of William Gilford Palgrave and Charles Doughty, watercolor images by Lady Anne Blunt, maps, photographs, and an introductory essay. The captions and commentaries that accomapny the pictures have been extensively researched by Eid Al-Yahya and Caroline Singer, and checked by three recognized independent experts in the field.
